Sarah Ellis-Steinborner Biography

Biography:

Sarah Ellis-Steinborner is a South Australian artist whose work is deeply inspired by the dynamic natural landscapes that surround me. Through contemporary abstract techniques, primarily in acrylics and oils, Sarah creates vibrant, textured works that capture the essence and energy of the Australian environment.

Sarah’s artwork serves as both a creative outlet and a vital tool for supporting her mental health. The emotional connection Sarah shares with her subjects—whether it’s the intensity of storms, the heat of the land, or the ever-changing drama of the sea—guides her artistic process. These natural forces, ever in motion and full of raw power, inform the depth and feeling embedded in each piece.

A signature element of Sarah’s work is the use of broad strokes with a palette knife. This technique allows her to inject texture and movement into the canvas, giving each piece both physical and emotional depth. The texture not only enhances the visual impact but also embodies the very energy of the landscapes Sarah depicts, creating a tangible connection between the viewer and the natural world.

By merging contemporary abstract techniques with expressive texture, Sarah offers a unique and immersive artistic experience—one that allows viewers to feel the energy of the landscapes, engage emotionally, and explore the beauty of nature's drama through her eyes.
